How to: Pause or Cancel Find Fast indexing.
Solution:
Open Find Fast and select the index to be paused. Select the 'Index' menu and select 'Pause Indexing' to pause the job or 'Cancel Selected Task' to stop indexing.
1) Click Windows 'Start'.

2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'.

3) Open 'Find Fast'.

4) Select the index to cancel or pause from the 'Index for Documents In and Below' list box.
5) Select the 'Index' menu and select 'Pause Indexing' to pause the job or 'Cancel Selected Task' to stop indexing.
6) Click 'Yes' when prompted to cancel or pause.
